Sci Fi on the Rock

I am super happy to say that I'll be bringing my geeky knits to Sci Fi on the Rock 5 in April, so come by and check out my table

The convention is taking place at the Holiday Inn in St. John's from April 15-17 . You can read more about it at www.scifiontherock.com

Also, I've been knitting away on several projects, so here are two of the latest

A Cheep-Cheep

A little cuddle fish (hurr hurr) based on the Super Mario Bros. enemy

and

The latest in my line of cryptids: The Chuppacabra

Based on the description given in eyewitness accounts, then cutified in my usual way, this little, one-fanged chuppacabra is sure to add some quirky fun to anyone's collection. He doesn't take up much space and only needs to be fed half a goat every other week
Both of these are available at knitwolf.etsy.com

SUCCESS!!!

I'm a day late, but I have successfully finished that project I mentioned in the last post.

Here they are, my Cthulhu gloves

These are my first attempt at gloves and I am very happy with the way they turned out. They are adult sized and sure to warm your hands before they swallow your soul!

Now available at http://knitwolf.etsy.com

Decisions and Moogles

Well,

I've thought long and hard about what I want to do with this little business/hobby of mine...
I've decided that, as it is becoming increasingly more difficult for me to continue with the flea market for a number of reasons, I'm going to set up shop online. Because of this, I won't be at the flea market any more, but I will still be open to special orders and I will still post news and projects on this blog.

I will make another post when I have the shop ready.

On a slightly different topic, here's a moogle

This is based on Lulu's moogle toy from Final Fantasy X

flea markets, projects, and some irritation

I'm back...

First, I'd like to apologize to anyone who couldn't find me at the flea market yesterday... I was there, but I spent most of the night looking for my table, then trying to get set up at a new spot after I found out someone had taken mine, despite my name being on it.

I have been assured that I will have a table next week, though in a new location so I will keep you posted on that. Anyone who had previously ordered things from me can pick it up then or or can e-mail me to arrange something different.

Again, I apologize.

Now, on a lighter note, my latest project:

Sackboy

The main character of Little Big Planet; Sackboy is different from my other toys as he actually has button eyes and a zipper tab as opposed to everything being done with yarn.

Here is a full view of him.

Flea Market!

I will be at the Unicef flea market this Sunday (11th). I'll be set up near Eddie Bauer, so come on by and say hello.

I also recently finished a new addition to the collection

A Blooper (the squid from Super Mario Bros.):

This one is based on how they looked back in the glory days of the NES.

Ah, good times :)

By the way, if you have any suggestions, or would like me to make something specific for you, feel free to give me a shout.

Creepy Crawlies

These are two more stuffed toys that were part of the first batch that I did.

I thought they deserved their own post because they really do stand out from the rest and also because I didn't want to make that last post to long.

The centipede:

This lil guy is particularly special to me, as I made it in an attempt to get over my fear of centipedes. Did it work? well, I'm still not a fan, but making this stuffed toy did get me accustomed to them thanks to the reference pics.

The facehugger:

Fans of sci-fi should recognize this little menace

It doubles as a fashionable scarf too! :D

The First Batch

Hello again, here are some pictures of the first batch of stuffed toys that I made

From left to right: a shark, a devil, Pikachu, a puppy and a bat

A kitty, a wolf (my mascot for this little project) and a floppy-eared bunny

A somewhat Tim Burton inspired skull, a goomba, a triforce, C'thulhu, and a skull inspired by the Day of the Dead

I will be back shortly with more pictures
